That's the football I've watched this weekend. Well, tonight you'll come with us on a journey. A journey to some football illumination, perhaps, Matt. Perhaps. Perhaps. Colin Menorsworth as well. Benji Lanyada was observing on Thursday's show that Eddie Howe is right there. So we asked your thoughts, which club might get on the blower over the international break? Martinez was first in saying, how about England calling Howe after they get battered by Spain on the 26th. Loads of other people mentioning you spurs as your man united. But realistically, is there surely too early, even with an extended international break? Is there a club out there that might actively be considering a change? Colin. I mean, there might be clubs putting in contingency plans. Are you being coy because you just said somebody? Well, you know, there's 20 Premier League clubs anyway. Right. What was the one that you just mentioned before we went live? Well, I think the one club who maybe... And they actually haven't had a bad result. They haven't had a bad week. They'll be Crystal Palace. Crystal Palace. Here, Sasha. But he's just arrived there. Why would he be on the way out? Well, there's just been a little bit of background noise that maybe the ownership and the coaching staff haven't exactly had the synergy that they maybe would have wanted in new opening weeks. And this sort of gets back to actually before the season and begun. So it's not results beest. But yeah, let's say, let's say, I don't think there's any meager issue of a club looking to change manager at this point. It's very early in season. Right. But let's say... You'd auger. You'd auger that everyone will have a bit of patience. Nobody wants to see people leaving their positions this early. Or do they, Daniel? Well, the away-end at Craven Cottage today was pretty unhappy. Booing, cobbie minute being substituted. Then doing his chance when Carrick brought him off. Right. And then, I think, from standing at Putney Bridge Station, talking to a few United fans, not particularly happy with Carrick's post-match assessment that United were. Good stylistically created loads of chances. The better team. Weren't dominant all the match, but should have won. And they were like, go. We watched a different game from where we were stood behind the goal. Yeah. And then you got your Spurs fans, man. Yeah. I think, I'm just looking at the Premier League table and wondering where Eddie Howe fits. Because I think, my new United think that they're too big for Eddie Howe. He doesn't know the club before on thing, which is a big tick against him. And I think Eddie Howe's too sensible for Tottenham. Oh. So, Daniel mentioned before we weren't alive that he's an Everton fan. David Moyes does disgruntlement like nobody else's face is set for it permanently. I wonder if he's reaching the end of his tether. So, there could be a nice thing for him there. Although, there is also potentially a job opening north of the border. Today's sore Celtics rough start to the season continue with a one-door defeat. At home to Rangers. Yeah. Second defeat to Rangers within the space of seven days. Right. Third defeat in the week as they also lost in the European's French virus of Hungary. All right. And each of those defeats has been, has been quite, quite bad. It has to be said. So, yeah, let's see how you, how yourself to get on the foot. How? Yeah. And if you need a break from the goldfish bowl of Newcastle in the intense fevered coverage of football in that city, then Celtics probably quite a nice indeed. So, many thanks to everyone who's writing in. Thor 864 says Spur's fan at the game yesterday. Aston Villa's Suzuki is a better passer of the ball than anyone in our squad. Well, we'll get on to that game shortly. Let's quickly check through the results on match day five. Sunday down at the bottom right of the results page probably. You've got Liverpool 1, they're winners of the vitality against Bournemouth. No goals between Leeds and Crystal Palace. Eight goals at the Etihad. It finished 5-3 between Man City and Sunland. Brian Brobby with a hat trick, but City with their fifth win out of five to go. Three points clear at the top of the table. And a one-on draw in that match at Craven Cottage between Fullham and Man United. Earlier on Sunday, no, sorry, earlier in the weekend on Friday. In fact, Brentford beat Chelsea 3-0. There was more misery for Spurs who also down three goals to Nile at home to Villa. They did rally to make it 3-2, but only after half their fans had left. Arsenal fans had just about finished laughing at all of that. When their own club went down 3-0-2, Brighton. And what was the CGO's 125th anniversary match? And it was a mix weekend for the promoted sides, Ipswich losing 1-0 at Everton. The Toffees still unbeaten. Newcastle handing hull their first defeat to one that finish. But Coventry climbing off the bottom of the table with their first goal and their first Premier League win in what about a quarter of a century? And that was a way at nodding for us. nodding for us. All right. We'll come to that game soon enough. But let's begin with events in the most recent of the matches. Fullham 1 Manchester United. Once you were there, Daniel. There was a comedy-owned goal. Well, there was a tremendously exciting first half with what's the stat? The most shots without a goal in the first half of a football match. Ever in the Premier League? Ever in the football, yeah. I mean, it felt really open. Didn't necessarily feel like there were 26 shots. That might be partly because I was blinded by the sun over the riverside stand by. So I could barely see the pitch. To my mind, Manchester United can play two ways. One is that it can be really chaotic and they can have lots of chances. But then the opposition has lots of chances. Or they can do this sort of slow, passing around the back, which is what they do when they get scared of the first version, and nobody has any chances. The good thing about this game is that fullham are exactly the same. They can either be, you know, lose 3-2 at home to Palace and Chelsea or draw a nil nil at Amfield. There's both teams. They're just either nil nil or nil 1, or they are 3-2 or 4-3 or whatever. Man United of 1-5-2 and... Yeah, so it's... Yeah, and that was the game. It was really open, but both teams were bad in both boxes. Okay. Second half... Saw... A great angle. A great angle. All of the great angles, I think. Because it's obviously terrible from Martiner's because he has over a second to think about it and still manages to control it like a toddler. They sort of rebounds off him. But then because it rebounds off him, I don't think it's a back pass. So Senna lamens can just catch the ball, I think. Right. And yet he does a weird slide because he's afraid of catching it. Yeah. And it takes him a while to make up his mind. It's like he's just met his legs for the first time. He's like, yeah, we're going to go with ease. Why not? And he was actually... He'd done a save a little bit early, Wade. I thought he was going to use his hands and he'd use his feet. He does that quite a lot, actually. He's good with his feet. There was a save from... I think it was Josh King that he did with his feet. It was really good. But he just got himself an absolute mess. Some good saves up the other one from Leno. Leno was the most competent player in the match. But United eventually did get the qualizer. Yeah. The first player I've walked to a Premier League round this season seeing the team and not recognised his name David Affengruber. We were also. Yeah, I mean, I immediately looked him up because I'm a professional. But... You feel what you want to salute, right? Yeah, I didn't know. Not really about it, you know. Yeah, yeah. Really horrible deflation. I mean, United were knocking on the door by that point, I suppose. But that was the first time they played really, tried to play really quickly. And Fulham Creek. So it sort of reflected badly on both teams, I think. So Fulham, you mentioned they got a nil nil at Anfield last weekend. Then they beat West Ham during the week and they get a point here and look for a wallet. They were going to take three against Main United. Are things beginning to come together for our below? They've got a really nice thing going on where Oscar Bob and Josh King kind of swap places on the right and are good. And then Iwobi is the kind of dependable on the left with Anthony Robinson flying past him. And that will create chances. I don't think the striker is quite good enough and Muniz is basically not scored forever in the Premier League. So that is a problem. They're going to be fun to watch. I get, well, like Main United, they're either either going to be fun to watch or they're going to draw games in the middle. Like close a team down away from home. But if they're fun enough at home and they shut down teams away from home, I guess they can pick up enough points. As for United, midweek, they had that horror show against Brighton. Yeah. Two nil up and then losing three, two and a game against Fulham. I think we're bottom of the table at the time going into the match. It seemed like kind of the ideal opportunity to bounce back. Instead, we had the certainly to the second half, which won Genevill described as the worst United performance he'd seen in his life. It was 15 minutes. I mean, 15 minutes, okay. I mean, he must have missed the whole game because it's not a compliment, but that was worse, I think. Yeah. I mean, yeah. It sounded quite hyperbolic, but I get the point, which is the... What was so bad? So they were really chaotic first half and Fulham had four good chances. And they came out in the second half and we're passing it really slow and not trying to go anywhere. But also then losing the ball in midfield quite a lot, which they weren't doing the first half when they were playing slow. But by losing the ball though, just inviting pressure. And that's how the goal came from Bassie winning it high at the pitch, robbing Tealamons, I think, of the ball. And then just nobody reacting quick enough, certainly not a San Diego Martin as a son of lamonds. It was... It was... It was like basically tactical confusion, plus penalty boxing competence equals us going one new down to a pretty bad team. Okay. Five points from five matches, the thirteenth in the table. And not just five points from five matches, but five points from Ipswich, Hal Everton, Ten Man Man City, and the previously bottom of the table, Fulham. And their run coming up is unsurprisingly... Not as... On paper harder than that. My biggest issue with Manchester United is that physical conditioning of the players, I don't think they're at a level where they should be. I think they tire in games. I think that they can get overrun a lot of the times, certainly in my field. And they get... It certainly happened in the first half when Fulham had those bricks and created an overload at the far post. I think Josh King, maybe, had two or three opportunities. The penalty was the same. The same was faced the back post, wasn't it? Yeah. And this is... I think they just get overpowered a little bit. And that's been consistent for the first month for the season. There was a Yuri Tealamons interview when he joined the club. And he was asked, what do you think about the training sessions? I'm really enjoying it because so much of it is technical focus. But he was making the point that we weren't actually doing a lot of running. There wasn't a lot of physical work, compared to maybe what there might be at other clubs, which were really intense for those summer months. I think is that a tactic that Manchester United are looking at in terms of how they're going to play. They don't want to tie themselves out. They don't want to create injuries for themselves. In games as well. Exactly. And is that something that they're trying to build into the season rather than rush through and try to be fully at your 100% for that opening month? And I think that's evident. But obviously that's problematic. So they're looking to run about the same amount this season has lost, but just do it across more matches. Wow. Look, I think that they're a team that you bring in Yuri Tealamons, Andres Santos. They're not naturally the most athletic midfield players. No colors play, but they might be a little bit different. You obviously haven't played yet. But I do think that that is an issue for them. I think in the Premier League, that will get exposed slightly more than it might do in European football. I also think that when we look at Manchester United's fixturists, Manchester United are one of the best teams in the world when teams give them space to play into. Whenever teams don't give them that space, they struggle. And that's a consistent theme to see them in their possession. Starts and everything else. We know that by now. So let's see how they do. You get on when they're playing teams who are willing to maybe play a higher line. Who are willing to give players like Kunya and Mwem or a little bit more space to run into. I would like a word for film quickly, because they obviously had that tricky start to the season. People were questioning Alvaro Orbalua in the centre. He'd come in from Real Madrid, but hadn't really been a Real Madrid manager. He was sort of there to essentially do Waffs Laurentiño Perez wanted to do that some more time. Right. But it's kind of interesting now that he's got his own team. So the first three games they lose by one goal in each of those matches. They're a little bit unlucky, but they're too open defensively. So he goes away to Liverpool. He brings in Sanduberger to play alongside Che Chorrel. So they've got that double pivot in midfield. And Affan Gruber also came in for his debut in centre-half, alongside Calvin Bassi. And that's just made them really solid. It's taken a little bit away from their attack. But Al Liverpool, they deserved that draw. They could have got more equal against Manchester United today. I did think they feared it a little bit. But I don't see that as a team. I know that they were bottom of the table at the start of the day. I think they'll be okay. They're not on the team. He's going to get heavily beaten week to week. Okay. A lot of people on the chat saying that United will be okay as well. I don't know if you have a strong view on United. We'll maybe save that for another week. And talk about Man's City Sunderland. Because that was earlier on Sunday. And it was way more fun, I would suggest. Eight goals with City eventually winning it. But they were pegged back by his Sunderland. If you excuse that expression. Three times, Brian Brobby in fabulous form. Everybody loves a bit of Brian Brobby. You were a fan, Matt. Yeah, he did injury for us to play quite badly last season. Oh, I've forgiven him for that. I mean, we're talking a lot about teams who struggle in the striking position and who don't get enough goals this season. So it is surprising that he, with all due respect, didn't get picked off by one of the bigger clubs in the summer, I think. I mean, Premier League Hatchery. It's a pretty rare these days when they don't contain at least one penalty or a free kick, I seem to think. And you've basically got Brobby in Harlem. And then I'm trying to think of another, you know, an out and out old school number nine striker in the Premier League. And there aren't very many of them. Maybe Liam did that, but he didn't score a hat trick this weekend. So probably some hot commodity, right? And he sort of out Sean Holland in this game in Mississippi and just about scored a goal. And eventually did get his goals the first time he'd ever scored against Sunderland and means that he has not scored against every Premier League team. That he's faced at least one of those stats that you just real off and you go, all right, but if you really think about it, that's extraordinary. I don't know if I don't, like I'm walking dangerous territory because I don't know what Colin Miller's stat is. But oh, it relates to the Aston Villa Spurs game. We're fine. He probably has one. Colin is great for that. Well, this according to one of the XG models at least is the most on record that Manchester City have ever faced, XGN. Really? In any match in any organization? It was over four. Yeah. First time I've ever faced four XGN again. Because Brobby's goals were all... And because of the beauty of their construction, pretty relatively easy finishes. Yeah. And Sunderland created other chances and City looked panicky in defense. And he's kind of mad that the weekend that they go top of the Premier League by three points and have won every game, we're saying this, but they look like somebody's going to get at them. Yeah. But they got at somebody as well to the tune of five goals. Yeah, they're quite good. And that's what... You'll have games like this and if you win them, although, I mean, here's the kind of counterpoint, Grace Robertson, for example, saying, City feel like they're doing a Liverpool 24-25 team built by a great manager who's still in place, but players working under somebody more relaxed and less intense. So... I'm the same note. That's annoying. But yeah. But he'll elaborate them that. Yeah. Well, I mean, it almost feels like that's... I mean, it's not even damning with faint praise. Is it? It's just damning, and Zamereska rather than saying, well done for taking over from the iconic manager of your football club's history and one of the great managers in the Premier League ever and making it look seamless. Obviously, that's much easier to do when you've got an excellent squad of players, but yeah, two of one, as emphatically as they have been doing, and to be managing other competitions as well. You know, they played on Thursday night. Yeah. They scored five goals in that game as well. But I mean, Zamereska started well at Chelsea, he lost two of his first 16 Premier League games. When he was Chelsea manager, obviously, helps that he has some knowledge of how the club works and how the league works. So maybe it is the sort of continuity appointment following a great that David Moyer's, the new Niamary, weren't, and this can be the one that, you know, that book, that particular trend, it helps when you spend, what, nearly 250 million quit on two midfielders alone as well, I suppose. But yeah, it would be cherished to say, if he hasn't made an excellent stuff. Yeah. Indeed so. And this was an excellent game. City, in three weeks' time, will have a trip to Anfield, which will be quite a test, one imagines, Andoni and I all are still unbeaten. In fact, a victorious also in the early games on Sunday, away at Bournemouth, his former club. Colin, you were watching this. I think a lot of us looking at the fixtures, three games taken by the same time. Bournemouth Liverpool was going to be the one, but it wasn't the one, was it, Colin? It absolutely was not the one, James. It was a hard watch. I think it's fair to say. I think this was a slow burner. Alexandries, I got the only goal of the game. 12 minutes, 10 to the second half. That is fourth league goal of the season, which is more than last season for, for exact. So I guess that shows what a full preseason and full fitness can do. And that's probably the me and bright spark for Liverpool, alongside another clean sheet. That's three in a row in the Premier League. Jeremy Jacquet has been very good in the centre of defence. Again, I thought he was quite a commanding presence. He's quite good on the ball and Liverpool can play out quite comfortably. And it looks quite settled already. He has Ronald Aroho playing at right back. It's probably not his favourite position, but he's kind of unspectacular, but relatively solid there. I think Barcelona were quite happy to see him go, because he struggled and that high line at anti-flicting plays. But Liverpool is going to be a little bit different. And I think he looks quite solid. Certainly compared to Jeremy Frimpong before, who's defensively quite erratic, I think it's fair to say. And maybe Bournemouth is just slightly concerning the fact that they've not played five in the league. They haven't won yet. I thought they were okay in this game, but the thing that gets me with his Bournemouth team a little bit is that even when they play okay, that's not really enough, because I don't think in the striking department, certainly before junior crypto be unavailable, the goalkeeping department too. You know, Peter Rich didn't make an error in this game, but those are two key areas of the pitch, where you can almost cheat a little bit, whereas if you've got somebody who's maybe above the average, you can get away with a below-park game and win. I don't think Bournemouth can really do that. And in this game, they had the ball in decent positions quite a lot, but they ran out of ideas in the final third. They were making poor decisions. And yeah, they've got European football this season a very impressive one out of the mail. Social Adam Thursday night. Right. But is there going to be a case of they play quite high intensity football? So an extra-eat plus games in the Europa League might make it challenging by the middle of the season. So I just keep an eye on Bournemouth because I kind of think they don't have the depth that there may be other teams in the league doing. But then you take it when you, you know, not to make it all about Forest, but the similar position to Bournemouth, would Bournemouth take finishing between 14th and 17th and get into, say, their quarters or semi-finals of the Europa League this season? I think they probably would. That's the trade off that Sunderland and Bournemouth and Forest last season and Crystal Palace probably have to make because it is so difficult to manage in these extra. I mean, it can be up to, you're looking at sort of 15-16 games you get to the semi-finals, right? So there is going to be a drop-off in your Premier League position. Nick Walgar, hello Nick, says, Jacques's presence and a Rojo's to an extent means Van Dyke now doesn't have to be everywhere all at once for Liverpool. Jacques is such an upgrade on last season's chronology. Thomas Callan, saying, Liverpool played the first half of walking pace. Hmm, yeah. I think there's been quite a lot of that this season. Walking? Well, of sizing, team sizing up each other in terms of not feeling like they want to commit a full high intensity, maybe reduce the game to 30 or 40 minutes in the second half and back yourself to win that, particularly with European stuff. Yeah. And ahead of a, you know, we all say the international world, you know, the international world. But for most of those players, it's one of the busiest times of year in terms of travel. So, yeah, I get it. And when you win one other way from home, it apps with your best chance of the game. It absolutely works. Yeah, certainly does. Nick Walgar with another comment here. The camera angle makes Matt look very short. That's actually the chair. Yeah, you got it on purpose. I don't like being too high on the Chaminac and change it if it's a huge piece. I'd say you're probably the tallest person here, is that right? Yes, undoubtedly. Yeah. It's not a high bar, but no. No. Okay. Sorry. That's right. As you mentioned, Bournemouth did get the victory 2-1 away at Real Sociadad on Thursday. Also victorious on Thursday in Europa League with Crystal Palace. Correct. It was 4-0. Winner's over. Let's pause. So has Park. A goal is for them, though, against or at Leeds to Alan Road on this Sunday afternoon. There you go. Dominic Cavallouin is back in England squad. As he should be. And Morgan Gibbs White is not. As he should be. I mean, whichever way round. He should be in the squad. He's the top scoring midfielder in Europe's top five leagues in 2026. Is that right? Indeed so. In Europe's top five leagues, no midfielder has scored more goals. And I don't even think goal scoring is in his top two best assets. What are his top two best assets? He's got a lot of activity and pressing work rate. Okay. And he's good at those. And he also scores a bundle of goals. If your top was too good, why are you not picking him? I don't know. And his argument is that he sees Morgan White purely as a 10. And he's got other 10s. But then he's gone to mention Josh King in that chat about 10s, which is kind of bizarre. I don't know. I don't know what more he can do. I think initially too, she'll felt that Gibbs White lost the ball in dangerous areas sometimes deeper. But I mean, he hasn't been that for a long time. So I don't know. I don't know. I just bet the honest answer is that we're talking about the 24th or 25th man in a squad. And he knows ever actually as a, and he is happy for him to be that player. Okay. England playing. Spain next Saturday. We'll be doing a live totally full show right after that, actually. I think you might be involved in that, Daniel. You've invited. Did you got shares in totally? Yeah. I'll be there. Yeah. Anyway. Good. Next. Let's move on next to London clubs in crisis. London clubs are in crisis, everybody. It seems like Arsenal, well, he's using three nil at Brighton. It's spurs beaten by Assembilla. Three, two. And of course, he had Chelsea done by. Brentford, let's begin, though, with the phenomenal performance by the Seagulls, who went up against this Arsenal side who boasted the best defense in the league, and absolutely smashed them three nil could have been much, much more. This in front of a record crowd at the AMX, who was celebrating Brighton's 125th year. They did what they do, what Hutzler sets them up to do against the big sides, which is press with intensity. No side in the Premier League wins possession back more in the final third than Brighton do. They did it nine times against Arsenal. What a fabulous performance. And this in the end of a week, which is seen as mentioned, they come from behind two nil down against Manion Nited, prior to that, they've beaten Country 5 nil. They got nine players out injured at the moment, including all the players that you probably heard of, his school goals for them. They shipped a bunch of players out in the summer. Is this one of the... It's disgusting, isn't it? Yeah. Is this one of the most impressive feats of football management, not just management, but, you know, management? Well, it's got to be one of the best recruitment teams going. I mean, to pick Hutzler for one thing. He was 31 when they brought him in from the second division in Germany. Yeah. It's so annoying. Their women's team has just hired a 29-year-old manager as well, which is even worse. But yeah, they... I made the mistake last time I was on him saying, I think I thought they might struggle because of their squad debt. Getting A, their recruitment team, and they are just the most un-household name team in the Premier League. Right? And you have to accept that a Biscagli Vuskovich, Chema, Costulas, they might have quite a lot of energy about their names, but they're actually going to have been very well scouted and be able to slot right into the way that Brighton play. And B, you know, Colin talks about the fitness levels of Manchester United, the fitness levels of Brighton are obviously off the scale to be able to do that to a team like Arsenal, in the way that they did it for 90 minutes. This is incredibly impressive. Off the back of that, come back when, with another much-change team in Trafford in the week. And I often think about that. That's more the credit of the coaching staff, because you can change your whole team for a game, and okay, we're fresh because we didn't play midweek. But the coaching staff have still got to prep those games in a short space of time. And that, I always think, is a particularly impressive feat if you can get back-to-back, noteworthy results like that. You know, scoring three goals in successive games, the old Trafford won against the Champions, who were all expecting to walk the leagues. Yeah, it can't praise the Marley enough, really. But just one of those days for Arsenal, isn't it? Well, yeah, but since everybody knows what Brighton do, why was it that Arsenal was so unable to respond in this game? Yeah, so I think Mark touches on it there. The way Brighton play football, it's very brave. And it's a sense there, if this doesn't go right, they can be caught open. And that has happened to Brighton at times this season. Right. Obviously, they can see the twice early on against United, but they can see the three goals against Chelsea in the opening half an hour. And they came back in that game to the rally quite strongly. So there is a way that... What did they do that so brave? Well, they essentially press very, very high up. They'll have a grip of four to five players, pretty much constantly on the defenders, slash the deep-language fielders. So that forces the opposition back. What it does do is it creates pretty big gaps in the game because there's so many players committed to one area of the pitch. So if you can play a round that or over that in a certain way, then you can be in. If you can get those combinations right, that does sometimes happen. Sometimes Brighton can see two or three goals. And this game they didn't... No, obviously you have to pre-is Brighton very, very highly for what they do. But I think also Arsenal, who've kind of serenely gone through this opening month or so of the season, hit a real stumbling block, because they just couldn't get out. And this happened again and again and again. Brighton were on this from the first whistle. And I kind of think is partly this condition by Brighton starting slow-leagant, she and I did starting slow-leagant, Chelsea, that they really mature. Look, that's not going to happen. We're going to be on it from minute one and they were. And pretty much every time you looked up to the screen, Arsenal's defenders were trying to find a way to play round the aggressive attacking players. And it wasn't working. They were continually trying to do it and they weren't getting through it. And Brighton were very, very successful in doing so. Now, you look at the two Brighton goals in the first half and they were long, long reenshot from our side areas superb finishes. But that was a result of Arsenal dropping deeper and Arsenal not being able to get out. Arsenal didn't really have any meaningful attacks until they went through and alone in this game. And Arsenal haven't lost again by three goals or more since May 2023 against Brighton and Hulvaldin. Really? Coached by Roberto Deservi. Whatever happened to him. But this is a thing that this is kind of in Brighton's DNA. A little bit in terms of how they operate as a club. I mean, Matt talked about that sort of pick and out Fabian Ursula, who is it? I think it's at St. Paulie before that. But he was obviously picked because he fitted the identity of what the club wanted. So he fitted the identity of what the players wanted and who they were recruiting. So it all fits and it all makes sense. This, of course, leads questions for Arsenal. Is this the blueprint for opposition teams to actually find these weaknesses? One thing to say we're going to do this. But to execute as well as Brighton did. Tremendously impressive performance. And we've listed so many positives about the Seagulls at the moment. Thomas Callum points out that some Brighton supporters lost season wanted Hutzler out. Because between November was it in January? There was that spell when they couldn't win a game. Yeah, they had 16 games with them. So is that part of the Brighton model that you can start well and then you're not going to be able to sustain this level of performance? And is this new squad that they've built maybe better suited for that? I think to an extent that's probably true. I think we should also say that having talked about how young Hutzler was, he was also pretty inexperienced. And this was his first real rut in the Premier League. And he did get through it and to his credit. To their credit, they stuck with him. But to his credit, he found a solution. And Brighton immediately looked brilliant again this season. I have no doubt that there will be a spell this season where they look shorter of energy and have to either compromise what they're trying to do or accept that there are going to be a couple of heavy defeats in there. And if they go to, deal down early, they won't have the energy to roar back. But they're third in the Premier League. So that's okay. That can't happen. And my only hope from this season, and this sounds negative and I don't mean it to be, is that with the energy they played against Arsenal, I hope they don't kind of spread them like, because they've got Europe and they've got the league. I hope they really go at Europe, because that's everything. Like, as a fan who's of a club who never thought they'd get back in that and did, they're the nights that people remember more than the Premier League, even if it's beating Arsenal. Liam talked about that being the best game. Like, it can be the best game so far. Like, you can have more of you really attack Europe. Because that squad is good enough to... Yeah, that's because... Yeah, they win a fight, they're conference league final. That's the best. And they've got the best squad in that competition, I think. Yeah, if you win the final, yes. But there's still, like, 16 games you get through where I think you think being Arsenal three-year-old is better than that. These games at the moment, though. Atheus 666, which is slightly... Interesting juxtaposition. Says no... Stuttering bases alike. Yeah. No fans last season wanted Hurtzler out. That was just Nonsense Press hype. Total Nonsense gives people with that inside knowledge something to talk about. Okay. Fair enough. That's the job. There we go. There we go. Well, so Brighton doing Arsenal and they're kind of a strange Stepsister Club Brentford on Friday night, Matt, a game that you were commentating on. Yeah. Did Chelsea 3-0? And was this a similarly emphatic performance? Do you know what? I don't actually think it was. I thought the first half was one of the poorest games in football. I've seen it in an awful long time. And then Chelsea defended terribly, made some really poor decisions, conceded three goals. I have a lot of admiration for Brentford in the way that I do for Brighton. A lot of admiration for Keith Andrews. But I don't think they had to work hard and be brilliant to beat Chelsea 3-0. I think it was about Chelsea 3-0, really, really poor. Certainly in the second half and lacking some luster in the first. But you won't see a worse goal to concede in the Premier League this season than Jaden Anthony's header from on the goal line corner. That is just astonishingly bad. And then they can see two more when they're chasing the game. But yeah, I don't wish to do Brentford down because as I say, I find them very impressive in lots of ways. But I think lots of teams would have beaten Chelsea 3-0 on Friday night playing the way that Chelsea did. Brentford are the best side in West London. They're also in the top five at the moment. Unless I've got that information. I'm pretty sure they are. They've beaten Spurs and Chelsea now 3-0 in this campaign. Disgusting, isn't it? Another B club. Another B club. Brentford and Leeds got a great opportunity to have a run at the top five this season. Because Leeds are up in there as well. And Brentford and Leeds don't have other teams who are playing well do. So yeah, fantastic opportunity for them. Chelsea don't have Europe either. No, they don't. They also have the worst defence in the Premier League. Yeah. How is that possible? Well, because I mean, I think a key component of it missed the whole of last season. You didn't leave our co-wil. Another member, Maxons Lequart, has looked slightly shaky at times. And then there's a bit of debate as to where the Wesley Fafana is a better option than Joshua Champonk. But also, Alonzo's switched between a back four and a back three a lot. So there's quite a lot of uncertainty around there. And Amy Martinez doesn't look any better than Robert Sanchez, which is a problem. And I feel for Austin McFee. He's different, though, because he's actually worst at kicking them. Yeah, but he's just as bad at coming for corners. And Austin McFee has had no influence over Chelsea's ability to either score from or defend a corner whatsoever. I mean, they had 12 corners themselves here. And they were all pretty terrible. I mean, there's mitigation in that they had a midfield of Henderson and Barco, rather than, you know, Kaisedo and A&N and Noja Pedro. But I think it didn't go brilliantly right from the off for Alonzo at Levyc using it. He pulled him away from trouble in his first season. But they can see that a lot of goals, I think, during that time. So we are five games into the season. And this is a team that finished 10th in the Premier League last season and were awful. So maybe to come in and expect him to win every game was unrealistic. But yeah, there's a lot of problems to solve. And they do have a big issue in midfield, because they didn't have Reese James and Romeo Lavier didn't start. And that wouldn't be your ideal first. And Kaisedo? Kaisedo, I think, from a fitness perspective, he probably could have played in this game. But if he'd done that, he'd have gone away with Ecuador for three weeks. And you know like that. So that's why he didn't plan for it. All right then. Just a word on Brentford. Yeah, Mamadou Sangare, who everyone has been given about as the signing of the summer. For the first two games. Yeah, didn't button. Didn't start this game. Oh. So came on and get books. Got books almost straight away. Yeah, yeah. You're on the look. Started alongside Jan Elton. And also Yannick Schuster, who I think got Amanda the match. Or he should have got Amanda the match if he did. He was excellent. And just a third Premier League star. Again, Nathan Collins was missing. And I think, oh, that'll be a big loss. Because they've signed somebody. It's the exact same profile. And it just epitomizes what Brentford were. But like, how Chelsea lost that game three nil is. I mean, I kind of think they fell apart a little bit in the final 10 minutes. You look at a team and sort of like the effort levels, notably kind of dipped after the second goal. And defending for each of those three goals, I thought was pretty shambolic. Yeah. Worrying stuff. Man run good says, hurry up and get to the part where we laugh at the spurs. Well, I think we can do that right now. If you want, I mean, there'll be people out there who are not laughing right now. People who perhaps left. That's not a hot spurs stadium. Well, before the final whistle. Well, before indeed, the team finally scored the first goals of this Premier League season to at least make the scoreline a little bit more respectable. Three to it ended between Aston Villa and Spurs at the Tottenham Hot Spurs stadium. But the Spurs Goals not coming into the 86th. And then the 98th minute. So, yeah, this was pretty emphatic stuff from Aston Villa. I hadn't won a game or season in the Premier League at least. I'd only scored one goal, but managed three here. And the other nice thing is new signing, scoring. New signing. Manzambi. Manzambi. Yeah. Who kind of has had an odd narrative arc. And he was brilliant at the start of the World Cup and we're like, this is the guy, this is the guy, and then immediately got injured and we didn't see him. Then came to Villa and we're like, this is the guy, this is the guy, and then someone went, oh, he's actually injured for two months. Okay, fine. But yes, we finally saw what we've, the sort of start of the World Cup window, Manzambi. What did you think? Yeah, he's obviously really exciting. I said a couple of shows ago. I'm worried about Villa's chance creation without Rodgers and Telemans, because I think the best chance creator left from the last season, we're basing McGinn and Brandeer. And I wasn't sure if Brandeer could carry on this kind of reincarnation of leads, Brandeer and Norwich, Brandeer, but he obviously scored a brilliant goal. But Manzambi takes the pressure off that. Because I think I'm by is going to be a kind of slow burner who's going to take time to settle. Whereas Manzambi, I think, is fit for purpose now. He's a very graceful player. Yes, I love how many times he receives the ball with his back to goal, and then just turns the player in one movement and then as directly running forwards. I think that goal he got on the stroke of half time. The confidence that that clearly gave him, when he got going, he was fantastic. And this game was about new signings, wasn't it? Yes. Aston Villa's new signings, excelling, and Tottenham's slightly less so. Slightly less so. Another of the signings, Nicholas Jackson, assisted, I think, by Manzambi, for the second goal before Buen Deer. Unleashed that rocket for the third. Excellent. I love the goal at Tottenham. He's got previous for that. Oh yeah. He scored a hat trick there for Chelsea a couple of years ago. But it's funny with Villa, all the talk was they're not scoring any goals and they didn't. But then what, three away and bruge, three away at Coventry in the week and three away at Tottenham. So it can turn quite a quick, it can't. Here's a stat from Colin Miller. Here we go. Unai Emery has won more games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium than the last three Spurs managers put together. Put together, how is that possible? Well, he's managed five games. Aston Villa manager in the Premier League, he's won four of them. So you're saying that the last three Spurs managers put together of one less than four? Well, Roberto Desavi won one. Igor Trey ordered and won any. And Thomas Frank won two. So three is fewer than four. Wow. And that doesn't include the FA. It doesn't include the FA Cup victory last season in lots of January either. Right. Yeah, it doesn't make great reading. I mean, Tottenham's home record is it is absolutely remarkable. Two, the homely, Winston's the start of that season, is it? Three. Yeah, three. Wow. Well, clubs are doing all their cans to get rid of season to go. That's right. And it's good to talk to them and forest to be so proactive. Once again, I mean, I'm sure we all saw this game and we saw a Spurs side doing what they seem to do every week, starting really brightly, creating chances, not taking the chances, going behind, failing to react in any way to that. Another remarkable number, which is the fact that they were actually his two. I can't find the one. I was looking. Oh, yeah. They have not come from behind to win a game since November 2024. That's what I was going to say. Like, there's a combination here. Firstly, you don't earn your kudos when you tune it down. It's all we're all saying. You know, yeah, we show some fight. Well, yeah, but the better fight would be to do it in Neil and Ilan and, you know, be clinical and be ruthless and be efficient. At that point. And secondly, the fight they show never actually, as you say, Jay, never actually ends up with the winning game. So that's not enough. But that's proven not enough. Yes, they were pretty good for the first half hour, just as they were against forest, just as they were against Everton, just as they were against, they were fine. But that enough, that is still a pattern of inefficiency. Being quite good, but not scoring goals is a criticism. It's not a compliment. Right. And then they go and concede the goals anyway. Models of recruitment, manager, you've got them over a barrel. I mean, we're talking about Brian Brovy. How much less could they have got him for them? They spent 100 million on Sandro Tanali, for example. Or the fellas up front as well. But they're not far shy of 200 million on. So they have now got, I think I'm right to say, their next four home league games. They've got Ipswich, they've got Coventry, they've got Fullham and I think they've got Palace. Their next away games are pretty hard. Although the next one's old Trafford, so TBC. But those next four home games are going to have to be the season. Because they're going to have to take 10 points from those. Otherwise, they're going to still be down there having played the easier home games. And as Colin says, the home form has been absolutely wretched. So this is kind of now or never time, I think. Spurs have now lost as many games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as Arsenal have lost at the Emirates. Do you think the fans listen to this and like this stuff? Probably not. That's an incredible statistic thing. Yeah, they are quite bad, yeah. It feels like Roberto Deservis already begun the process of engineering as well, doesn't it? You feel? Yeah, I throw the players under the bus, cause a bit of a rift. Get out while there's not too much Tottenham stack on me again. I am very disappointed, sad and frustrated for the performance. We can't lose the game in this way. I spoke with our four attackers in Minute 51. I asked them to use their head all second half. I was telling people it would be calm, but the second goal was incredible. If someone shouts be calm out here, that doesn't make you calm. And also Deservis has absolutely not got be calm energy about him whatsoever. He's got, so no. He looks like a European DJ. He was screaming be calm at you from the stage. It's not going to work, is it? Right. Quite a picture. Hmm. Okay. What we'll see is through this time they do make the journey to Old Trafford to meet fellow crisis club, Manchester United. Possibly with that Pedro Porto who went down injured. I think that that could help. I think having Archie Gray as that defense just trying to get a defensive platform in and using Gray just as the. Yeah. They create quite a lot of chances anyway. That's not the problem. The issue is finishing them. So I actually don't think that's as big. I mean, no one wants anyone to get injured. But I think maybe going back to basics defensive, he probably isn't the worst thing. Okay. Let's see. Long time before those games roll round. Next stop. Let's check up on forest and the other. All right then. Now, Premier League, nodding of Forest None, Co-1. So, Matt, you knew this would happen. Yeah. You said to produce a charity on Saturday. Sometimes. Yeah. I am going along to Forest Neal Co-1 on Saturday. Yes, that is what I said. And so it came to pass. And was I being right? No, I just watched Forest a lot. So, please to get commentary a step close to the magical 12-point mark. Yes, but very, very, very terrible performance from Forest. Not, I mean, commentary weren't particularly good. It was an awful game of football. I've seen some bad football this weekend. But yeah. What's your worst game you saw? Oh, Brighton Villa in the WSL today, that was worse. But this was the most frustrating because the team, as a sport, were awful having looked good last week. But yeah, and it pointed to a problem. I think Forest are going to have this season whereby, as good as Oliver Glasner is, at the way he plays, there is little flexibility in it. And if a team works out how to nullify it, then it can be... How do you nullify it, asking for teams? Stop the wingbacks from getting forwards. Stifle any space for Morgan Gibbs White in the middle of the pitch. Don't let James McAtee pass the ball. And you're away, kind of, then, I think. And it was a real... It was quite a damning of Glasner as well, actually, unfortunately. And I'm sure that he and Forest will figure it out. But his attempts to change the game were late and, in my opinion, incorrect. So, Dan and Doi, who I am not a fan of in the slightest, shouldn't have come out for the second half, did, played on for too long, brings on Igor J. Zeus. Forest ended up playing a 424 formation with no width and Kalamazoo and Doi sitting on the bench and conceived just to rely on YouTube. The stupidest goal that you're likely to see in quite a long time, goalkeeper puts the ball up field, wingbacks nowhere near it, goalkeeper stays on his line, like, just childish nonsense. So, yeah, really poor, obviously good for Coventry. But, as I was saying before, we came on air, terrible timing for Coventry. Yeah. You get your first win. Great. Let's build on this. When's the next game? It's in three weeks' time, though. Not ideal. Forest has only won one... Talk about Coventry. I will do. But Forest has only won home lead game in 2026 and the team they beat is currently bottom of the championship. So, it's not brilliant. Coventry, Frank Lampard changed it, which is good. He's been playing, they've been trying to take teams on and being like, you know, we're in the Premier League now. We're not going to die wondering against Forest. He packed the midfield and sat off exactly what... As Matt says, exactly what you should do against Glazner. But, they hadn't really done that in games now. So, plus Mark's for Lampard for doing that, because I don't think that comes naturally to him. Excellent. Plus Mark's for... Cheetah Silver. Just checking the name of the goal score. It was his first goal. Four Coventry and his 127th appearance. Mark said he'd be a better left back than Ashley Cole. Did he say that? When he was coming through it, Chelsea's Academy. He's also... And I... For understandable reasons, we'll enjoy this. He's also very... He's a very short footballer. You don't see very many... How short? Plank-sized Premier League players anymore, but he's one of them. I mean, he's probably six foot, he's just shorter than everyone else. He's really short. All right. So, just very quickly on Coventry. That goal was a really nice finish. They have created seven up to defined big chances this season. And that was the first one that scored. And they've only conceded 10 big chances. So the results may be on a little misleading in the just how badly they've played. They've been competitive, but just haven't been finishing very well. Okay. And maybe that's the moment, maybe. There is five foot seven. Five foot seven. There we go. His hope for his all in this room. Ah. Indeed so. Man run good. Him again. Or them again. And there's nothing more frustrating than that as a foot. As a fan because you haven't got any momentum about it. And you can't get a handle on it. But that's what they'll be. That's what they'll be. Okay. Everton. They don't lose games. They haven't lost a single one this season. Even though their squad would be tight for a five-a-side team. What they've got 18 players or something like that. They have not had a single defeat. They actually got three points at home to Ipswich on Saturday. Could see of a goal from Tino Barry. First. First day's knee-slide chat. You can't really do a knee-slide after the ball. It's you're on the bum and goes in. You can't. All right then. Save it for a good side. Yeah. Yeah. That respect. And the other game this weekend was another of the three clocks on Saturday. And the saw hull have their first defeats. New Car saw. Victorus at St James's against the Tigers. Two goals in the first seven minutes for the Magpies. Both assisted by Harvey Barnes. Ooh. Oh, we're really good for the last 30 minutes. Yeah. They deserved a point. They really took on. It's a big win for the Newcastle because the whole season last season was going up and then falling further and further towards their own goal and getting eventually ain't done. The fact they didn't was huge. But whole really, really, really good in that last one. Okay. More of them. It's going to be interesting relegation scrap. By the sound of it, if Coventry and not that bad, and Huller, still pretty good and lots of big names. A lot of them. Hulles are fine and forest are fine. Should be good. Can't wait. Yeah.
