Group H Storylines
🏆 Euro 2024 Champions Arrive
Spain won Euro 2024 with breathtaking football — Yamal's wonder goal in the final cemented their claim as the world's most exciting team. They arrive in North America as World Cup favourites and Group H represents the start of their title defence.
⚡ Lamine Yamal — The 18-Year-Old Phenomenon
Born the night of the 2006 World Cup final, Lamine Yamal is football's most astonishing young talent. At just 18 and already a European champion, the Barcelona winger will be the most-watched player in every Group H game.
🇺🇾 Uruguay's Warrior Spirit
Darwin Núñez leads an Uruguay side that always punches above its weight. With a population of just 3.5 million, they've won two World Cups and reached the semi-finals in 2010. La Celeste will fight Spain tooth and nail for Group H's top spot.
🇨🇮 Ivory Coast's New Generation
AFCON 2023 champions Ivory Coast bring confidence and quality to North America. Sébastien Haller leads a squad with players competing at Europe's highest levels — they'll be eyeing qualification from Group H for the first time since 2010's Round of 16.
🎯 Pedri — Spain's Midfield Brain
Barcelona and Spain captain Pedri orchestrates everything from midfield with a maturity beyond his years. His partnership with Yamal and Nico Williams creates the most dynamic attacking unit in international football heading into 2026.
🏆 Spain's Third World Cup?
Spain won it in 2010. Could 2026 bring a second star? This generation — arguably as talented as the 2010 squad — has the hunger and the quality. Group H is the beginning of what could be Spain's greatest World Cup journey.
