And Charlie Davies, and we've got a great show for everybody. We got American Scorn bangers in the championship. Jack the Glenn baby scored a peach of a goal with his quote-unquote week foot for Stoke City. Sebastian Burrhalter getting a brace for Middlesbrough. That was pretty sweet, Christian Pulisick returning to action for AC Milan. That was cool. Eunice Musa made a big difference when he came on as at halftime as well. Kevin Zolvin putting up messy numbers of MLS. How are we going to tap into his abilities if he does get called into the USman's national team? It's an American invasion in the Europa League. But one of our guys win it. We have plenty of options. And then four teams are going to fight it out for a US open cup final birth. We'll get into the semi-final previews. It's all on Paramount Plus. It's very exciting. Big Jones, come to you first. How was your weekend? It was good. I was two rooms over for two days straight, watching games and sitting at a desk and doing all that stuff. And I was good. So here watching, you mentioned a couple of the highlights we covered EFL. So we saw, you know, McGlin, we saw Burhalter. Aiden Mars was good. Some really good performances. And then of course, on Sunday, the big change in the Milan match was when Musa and Polisik and of course Mora came on in that one, but focus on Musa and Christian ferment. They were outstanding. So it was fun to watch it all live. I love it. It sounds like a fun weekend. Chuck, were you out on the sidelines, coaching, bossing? I was. I absolutely love this weekend. My, my players came out to play. It was great progress over the past two, three weeks now of getting on the pitch with these kids. And I was very proud. That's awesome. I was suffering as a fantasy football person first week of NFL. I somehow pulled up some results. So shout out to my guys and the Pittsburgh Steelers defense for having a great weekend. Also, Dominic Calvert Lewin helping me win my fantasy primarily match up this weekend with two goals yesterday. So appreciate you, DCL. That was pretty much it. Hung out with my family, of course. Let's get into some Americans abroad notable performances because we've already mentioned a few of them. Jack McClendon scored his first goal for Stoke. Since he's been on the team, they have not yet lost. So shout out to Jack McClendon. And if you haven't seen his goal, it is tremendous. Nice little deacon fake with his left, cuts it back to his right and puts it into the top corner. Josh and Bruhlitzer scored two goals. He talked with tones. We'll get into that a little bit later. And him pushing higher up the field, which I think is interesting. Luke Tillman came on 15 minutes left, bio lever cues and tied that one. He got an assistant that went to to draw versus Augsburg and no key banks. John Lucobusio registered an assist but suffered a hamstring injury for two losses. This is fewer and Tina. Not good news for Vanessa. They're on the bottom of the table in Serie A. Christian Pulisic, recording an assist in his season debut in a two to draw versus Lazio. Now, before we talk about the Milan duo, because I do want to get into Unisbusis performance as well, we know that, well, let's talk Jack McClendon. And Chuck, you have a long standing relationship with Jack McClendon. You thought you could beat him in a foot race. Maybe you still can, but he scored a peach of a goal and Stoke City, not doing great when he signed up. They had three wins in a draw in their last four. What are you saying about Jack McClendon at this particular moment? Remember, we're both former union players as well. That's true. That's right. Let's not forget that. I'm thrilled for Jack McClendon. I thought this was a fantastic move for him because he wanted to be tested. He wanted to go over to Europe and a number of the players in his position are playing in the championship. So why not be compared to them playing at the same level by, but at the same time showing your worth in Europe? Because I think for him, the question was never, can he strike a ball with his left foot? Can he ping a ball, 80 yards diagonally? Can he dictate a game when he has time and space? That's a given. He's a quality player. Now we're saying there's not much space and the game's 100 miles per hour, which it is in the championship. How does he hold his own? What's his decision-making under pressure? Can he play quicker, can he find space for himself and create space for himself in those conditions and the pressure every week and in training? Every four days, right? Like you just say. And a game every four days, a grind for me. There's not a better start to come over and be already trusted and scoring goals. So fantastic start for Jack McLean. Yeah, shout out to Jack McLean. It's exciting. And Charlie Davis is giving you high praise. We actually have plenty of time for that. You know, it doesn't come easy. It doesn't. You've got to earn it. You've got to earn it. So hey. And he did come out of that game at the end. It looked like he was a little bit injured. So hopefully it's nothing. But yeah, you talk about dictating the game. He actually was a big part of this game. He was the ball moves through him. He makes really good decisions on the ball. He was by far, if I remember on the weekend, he was one of the highest rated players on the field for this game. So good on him. And I'm sure the scouting report was, don't let him shoot from distance with his left. And then he cuts on to his right foot and hits that one far post. So it was nice to see him get a good goal, a good finish and bet himself into this lineup. Yeah, really exciting. I was thrilled for him. Now we had our very own Tony Miola have a chance to talk to Sebastian Burrell after his two goal performance from Burrell. Let's take a look at that clip right now. I know you for a long time. What are the lessons you take from going a goal down, going two goals up, drawing again and then eventually winning this thing, just from a sort of a management standpoint of the game? Yeah, personally, I think I can work on my breakaways, you know, haven't had too many of those in my career, but honestly, that's something I gotta, you know, playing higher up the field, I gotta get better at. And, you know, for me, I should be doing better and especially those two chances I had, but I think, you know, that's how the champ is, you know, if you don't put your chances away, there are, you know, other teams in a common score. And, you know, it's great to them, they did a great job of staying in the game and believing and then, yeah, then creates us again for believing till the 90 plus 4th minute. All right, my big takeaway from that is that he called it the champ. I'm gonna call it the champ from here on out, so I appreciate the shorthand there from Sebastian Burhalter. Now, you watch this game, big tones, not only the two goals, but talk about his influence overall, because I think Burhalter, very similar to Jack McLean, even though Burhalter's had a couple more games under his belt, seems to have a big impact on his team. Yeah, and he touched on his playing a little higher up the field. So, you know, he's being asked basically played with Aiden Morrison, Aiden Morris is the guy that holds a little bit more. So you're playing with two sixes, but you're really playing with like two sixes only when you don't have the ball, right, and then he's getting up the field and they change their formation. It looks like a little bit, but he's striving right now. He's the fans clearly like him. If you, we know him, if you think about his work, Ray, if you think about what he offers, to the game, like this is a perfect league for him, right, it's up and down all, and the guy doesn't stop and he gets himself in the box. I think he was joking there, because I think it was, I can remember there's so many goals and I think it was three three when he had this breakaway, right, and it could, and I think that's what he was saying in that, right, we don't know him for being a breakaway guy. We know Charlie Davies for being a breakaway guy, not necessarily him, but yeah, like, you know him, he's going to, he's going to give you everything he has all the time and always hope that it's good enough, but it was good to see him get two goals. They went down really, really early in this game. It was a big game for Norwich on the weekend. They needed to get a result here, and Middlesburg just came back and eventually won this thing and deserved to win it, but could just see those two together, man, there was a really good partnership. Yeah, a lot of fun to watch. The league, the champ, as I'm calling it from here, borrows only one point off the top of the table currently fourth. So we'll see how they're doing. Stoke middle of the table, 10th or 11th right now. So we'll see how both of those teams do. We'll keep everybody posted. Oh, we're going to move over to Milan. We're going to hear from Ruben Amarim, their coach, who is talking about Christian Pulasik before the game against Lazio, and then we'll dive into how Christian played afterwards. And Pulizic is upset in the moment because he has zero minutes, and I love that. I love that in my, in my players, but he's ready to play. And let's not forget that Pulizic had an injury. Then in the first training had the knock and he stopped a little bit and then returned. Pulizic is really important for us. And for me, all the players in you will see will have eight weeks after the national team will have eight weeks with three games per week. I think they are going to be tired of playing. So we'll have time for everyone. Pulizic is really important for us and is going to play a lot of games, but you need to understand the context and the history to understand why I do the things the way I do. I think what's interesting there, Chuck, before we get to our resident Milan fan, Tony Mjola, that the eight weeks straight, three games a week is crazy. But I love that this actually happened before the game because they were down to zero in the Lazio at halftime. Then they had to bring on their American heroes, Christian Pulizic and Yunus Musa. And they end up scraping Diego Marrera, obviously, came on to score the two goals as well. So those three guys come on at halftime and they make the difference and they end up getting it back to 2-2. Let's talk about his impact and I actually like when a pissed off Christian Pulizic hits the field. We've seen him before at the U.S., where he's got a little bit of a chip on his shoulder. The guy that takes his game to another level. He does. He created the most chances coming on as a substitute, right? So I think for me, we knew he was going to take Christian a little bit of time considering how the summer ended for him and the late start in building yourself up. It's a new coach, typically with new managers. They give the time and opportunity to the players that showed up for them at the start of preseason because they're building that relationship and trust. So now all of a sudden, Christian Pulizic is on the outside looking in. And no matter what he's done in the past, we all know some coaches say, it's not what you've done in the past is what you do now here. And show me you want to play, earn it, and that's exactly what he's doing. So it's, I don't think any of us doubt it, Christian Pulizic starting on this team and thriving on this team. When he's healthy, he will be, if not the best player, the top three, top two, players in this squad. It's exciting to see him back on the pitch. And boy, was he cutting up this, this Lachio side. Tony, you had to be thrilled because it really showed how good he is when he is motivated and fit. Well, it was the UVA game the week before, Charlie, where we were, you know, analyzing that game and saying, this, this game is crying out for Christian Pulizic skill set. Somebody who will take players on, who will draw two players, not a bunch of guys just kind of standing around, right? They need a movement, literally the only guy moving in that game was Eunice Musa at the time. And so, and it didn't happen. And we had Marco Messina, I think I mentioned this on Tuesday, we had Marco Messina there and he didn't even get up off the bench. So he was an afterthought. And I don't know if it was this press conference we just saw or was the one before where Amarine said something to the effect and you guys are doing the coaching now. So you, you're going to have to deal with this at some point. He said, well, we're getting results. So I can't take the players off the field that are getting results to put somebody else on. I think this is a player off more than that when you know you're a stoner. I know. Well, now I'm like, I'm like, well, you were just really real, they were poor for 45 minutes against Lachio. I'm like, you made three changes. One is the big sign you had in Marrero, right? But we're focused on Musa who didn't start it. It started every game prior to that. And policy, those three guys came on and changed the game. So if I'm a, you know, I say if I'm a Milan fan, I am. But if you're a Milan fan, it's going to be hard to convince anybody that Christian policy shouldn't start in this game. It's going to be hard to convince anyone that he shouldn't start moving forward and maybe this was just the breakthrough that he needed, right? He just needed that moment. He, I mean, it was, I don't know much you guys saw of like exactly when he went in and half time. He, like in an instant, the game looked different with those two guys on the field. In an instant, they changed the rhythm of the game and that's, okay, we have to give the coach credit, right? Because the coach made this a, we always say we judge the coaches on the changes they make and how they affect the game and all that stuff. So we have to give him credit, but credit to those three guys and two that we're, you know, obviously concerned about. So Eunice Musa had 664 total minutes for Adalanta in Milan last year. He's currently at 315. He's halfway there to his total minutes from last season, which is pretty remarkable. And I, what's interesting on the second goal in particular, I thought he, he did a nice job of like second phase defending, right? There was a, there was a counter press. He put himself in a good spot, wins the ball, whips the ball in the box, ends up going to Ravio at the back post who lays it off from Raya, who scores and make it two two. Those are the little details that I think really level up a player and if he can continue to do that consistently, it's only going to make him more valuable moving forward. Chuck, I'm going to put you on the spot here. Would you bring Eunice Musa into this camp? I know that we've already put out our roster in the last show and all that, but given that you saw another positive performance from him, is that, is that enough for you or do you feel like he's just persona non grata with Mauricio Pochettino at this point? So without a doubt, you, you, you, in my mind, there is no possible way you could leave Eunice Musa off this roster. For a number of reasons, he's, he's playing every match for Milan, okay? So the fact that he is being counted on right now in Milan to play and contribute and he's been consistent, he's 23 years old on top of that. So it's not like he's 30 and you're going, oh, he's playing Milan, but you know, he's already three, I don't know, he's 23 years old. And you, you have to understand that a player's career, there's, there's so many ups and downs and you, you, you can make a bad choice in deciding to go to a club that isn't a great fit. You can make a bad choice by saying, hey, I need a break, I need to rest, I want to spend out with my family, whatever the, the, the choice that you make at that time might seem logical and smart, but maybe backfires, that happens. And you know, he's a young player, he's going to learn from it. But here he is, ball and 23 years old, bring the guy in because we all know how good he is. When he's at his best, we all, we know how good he is. Can't, it's either, we got to, you just got to appreciate for what he is and he's not going to become this crazy goal scoring or goal creator out of midfield and he's just a player that can, when you, when you balls, keep possession, dribble out of problems to give it to somebody else to, to have space running into the attacking third, but right now top, top performances and he's got to be called in. Eunice Missile will be 27 and a half for the 2030 World Cup. That's a prime age from what I understand. I was 29 when I played in my World Cup and I was cruising that point, felt like I was in peak form. Do you agree, by the way, Jim? Yeah, I think that it's a, that's a no brainer, that it's, it would be, it would be wild to not have Eunice Musa come in to this camp. No, it would be, I was kind of my, it's a nice segue into what I was going to ask tones with regard to, if something happened as a coach tones, right, and something happened that you just lost faith in this particular player when you were so, what would that player have to do to kind of win back your good graces? Yes, there's a performance component to it and he's taking that box, right, to Chuck's point. He's making himself undeniable. You're saying, as he burned a bridge. Yeah, and is there any way back to him? Yeah, see, I think that we're in a new cycle, right? Like what, outside of something egregious, right, that you did to the team or something happened, you know, on a personal level to the coach or to the, you know, another player like a fight or something, but in this case, pochettino, one, he wasn't playing well, right? And I think it was easy for poach to leave him off the World Cup roster. It wasn't playing at all, as we saw in the numbers. So the decision was made even easier, the question I would bring him in, here's, I would bring him in if this were a full roster. We don't know what this roster is going to look like. You're guessing, do you bring Eunice Moose in if you're going to have, if you're ideas that you're going to bring completely young players into this camp? Is this a camp for Eunice Moose? Yes. He's 23 years old, so check now, but no, I understand, but he's already a World Cup veteran. So you're going to bring him in with, but he's 23 tones, right? I get it. I get it, but I still look at Eunice Moose as a national team player, World Cup level player that didn't make the World Cup team, obviously, right? I feel like coming off the World Cup in 2022, the performances we're seeing in Milan right now, this should have been his post-World Cup, right? And what it looked like, where we saw like a year and a half or two years of, oh man, he's not playing. The play is declining, and I'm starting to get the sense that Eunice Moose needs a manager who, he's one of those guys that needs a manager who is saying, you know what, I need you. And that's what Ruben Amarine is saying right now. I need you. I need you. I believe in you. Remember, he was almost out the door in the summer, Eunice Moose. And Ruben Amarine said, after preseason, what, no, no, no, he ain't going anywhere. He's staying here. So now, we always talk about what's the term you use all the time, meet the player, you know, where the player is at. So some players, some players need, need the arm around the shoulder, and some players need to kick in the ass. And maybe he was just needed for someone to put his arm around the shoulder, and he's playing well. Yeah. No, it's, it's really interesting. I, I guess the, I guess one more question then to discuss with everybody, anybody is watching. Right now, we have a poll up that says, has Eunice Moose done enough to force his way back into camp, 67% of you say, yes, Puchotino needs to call him in. Do you think we've seen a ceiling, right? That was kind of maybe a question we were having when he was not playing well. Chuck, do you feel like Eunice Moose can find that next level? And is that next level in some ways? Is it just consistency, just being good consistently, right? Is that the next level for him? And for any player, I'm using Eunice Moose here to kind of symbolize that. No, I think every player is, is case specific. So for me, Eunice Moose, if we're talking about, has you reached the next level? Well, the next level for him was just being extremely consistent every single match. And, you know, we would love to say, hey, can he be, can he make the next threshold of being a chance creator? And can he be the next, reach the next threshold of scoring goals at a midfield? And maybe that's just not him. So let's not, let's not say, hey, he's got to do this to reach his potential. Maybe his potential is literally just winning balls in midfield. I think he has a great sense of picking up second balls, anticipation. He can, he can win a challenge if he has to. But what makes him so unique is that he can dribble out of dangerous situations. He's very comfortable under pressure. That's sometimes a skill you can't teach. And if he can be consistent with that and not lose the ball, and making the right decisions of one to press with the dribble versus, let me just find it and play quickly. That, that might be exactly who he is. And that's absolutely perfect. Like a 10 out of 10, if he can play to his level, every game. Chuck, that's what he's been asked to do right now. What you're, what you're talking about is what he's been, at least it looks like that's what he's being asked to do by Amarin. Right. By the way, tones, if he does that, and he's a 10 out of 10 doing that role, that's phenomenal. That, that's a star on the USman's national team. I'm a, as you may know, I'm a Milan fan. So I used to go to the games the last two years, wondering if Eunice Musa was going to play, right? I'm going into the games now on the weekend, when I'm waiting for the lineup to see who they're pairing with Eunice Musa in the midfield. That, that's how I'm looking at the game, right? Completely different shift right now. And I get, it's only four, what do we, four match days in, right? To this thing, I understand. But he's earned that so far through preseason. Wouldn't it be crazy? What a story that would be. You start in a World Cup in 19, somehow don't make it for the World Cup roster at 23, and then at 27 years old, you find your way back in the World Cup in 23. What a story. Honestly, it would be an incredible story. All right, we're going to take our, yeah, honestly, and for, and for parents, nothing like that too. Yeah, yeah. No, I mean, that would be remarkable. And I'm pulling for him. I think that would be very cool to see. All right, we're going to take our first break of the show. When we come back, we're going to talk about another young player, younger than, than Eunice Musa, 16 year old Kevin Sullivan. He is setting some records here in MLS. We'll talk more about him right after this. All right, welcome back into the show. So since the World Cup break, there's only been two players in Major League Soccer that have 12 goal contributions, goals and assists combined. And one of them is Leo Messy. And the other one is Kevin Sullivan. He's got 12, which has helped the Philadelphia Union go on a 10 match unbeaten run in league play, which is absolutely remarkable, because they were, they were dog poop to start the first half of the season. They would admit that as well. They just beat San Diego in San Diego 5-0. Kevin Sullivan scored his first two goal game in Major League Soccer. They're currently in seventh overall. When you look at this, this stat or this graphic we have up, Kevin Sullivan, you know, Messy, 12 goal contributions. Griezmann is in third with 11. Denny Buonga with 10. Milan Eloski, his teammate at Philly has been killing it too. He's got 10. And then we got Veldey at Portland Timbers with 10 as well. Pretty remarkable. All things considered. Chuck, you were, well, I think both of you guys were young phenoms at one point. I was not. I was a late bloomer. But Chuck, you can go first as our attacking resident here. How impressive is this from Kevin Sullivan? Let's just start there in terms of the now. And then we can kind of project into how that could potentially parlay into future success with the US men's national team. Absolutely phenomenal. I mean, I wasn't, I was a late bloomer too for a youth national team player. I mean, I got in to the U18 national team. So after that U17 cycle went out, you know, the Freddie Adus of the world, Eddie Gavins, Michael Bradley, Corey Ash, you know, that group. I then came into the picture. So when I see Kevin Sullivan, this is Freddie Adu level, what he's doing right now. Because I see the comment from Martin O'Malley is Kevin Sullivan, the best player and I'm less under the age of 39. That's hilarious. You know, he, as an American player though, he is one of the best attacking players in Major League Soccer right now. That there is not a doubt. So when we were talking about the national team, we were talking about Kevin Sullivan's potential, right? Simon Manchester City, he balled at the U17 World Cup. You know, as a young player, filled up the union, I've done a pretty good job of like integrating them into first team professional football, right? The Bethlehem Steel, earning his stripes, getting used to that type of physicality and then, you know, giving a minute to your minutes there. Now, the guy's a full-fledged starter in MLS. Think about his past year that this kid had phenomenal. So in seeing what he's done really well, his first touch has improved tremendously at this level, at the highest level, his speed of play. So he's thinking well before he's done that at the youth levels. But now we're talking about first team level games moving a lot faster, the ball's moving a lot faster. Now he's processing that. And he's still bringing his creativity to the next level too. I mean, the last goal he scored at the back heel for the union, he's still got the fire in the edge that we've seen at the younger levels. But he's bringing that with a target on his back and performing. I have nothing but a positive things to say because this is really remarkable. This is special for 16-year-old to do what he's doing, given the Manchester City signing, hanging over him. You know, those type of players have targets on their back. There's no doubt. You give a little extra juice when you see Kevin Sullivan, one of you won. You're like, oh, I'm not getting roasted. I'm not getting on a highlight. And I want to show that I could be going to Manchester City too, you know, and my man's balling. So shout out to Kevin Sullivan and for the union on how they've handled him his playing in production. Yeah, it's looking like genius move at this point. But yeah, he's been unplayable really since the World Cup break. First team teenager in MLS history to record goal contributions in five straight matches. He also has 17 goal contributions to season six goals 11 assists. That's tied for the third most by a teenager in a season in MLS history, only three behind Diego Fogundas, who had 20 and 2013. He has nine goals and 13 assists in all competitions, meaning include the Leaks Cup. He's going to break that record from Fogundas for sure. Really impressive, and I agree with you, Chuck. I think what I've really gained from watching him play consistently is just his situational and spatial awareness, right? That's something we talk about in general that our younger players maybe lack a little bit of that. But he's got it in spades. It may be having an older brother, you know, and having to kind of compete and fight and have to always be thinking ahead because the older brother with Quinn Sullivan, who's a good player as well, that asks questions, right? Big tones of, we see a lot of these brothers, I think. The Ayronson brothers are another good example where if you're always having to compete and think faster than somebody that lives with you that you're always kicking the ball with, that just helps in your development in a big way. Yeah, he gets a soccer kid, right? I mean, he's just this is what he lives and breeds and wants to do. One thing I like about watching him, there's a lot of things, but one thing that's sticking out to me more and more, he doesn't stop, man. He doesn't stop wanting to influence the game. He doesn't stop wanting the ball at his feet and running at players and putting you under pressure. And yeah, we talked about his fights in this a couple of times, right? That'll have to be, you know, he's not going to be able to go, let's assume for a minute to Manchester City and every time you get kicked, you want to fight somebody, right? He's not going to do that. So he's going to have to manage that a little bit. But he wants to make a difference in every place, not one of those guys who you go, ah, he's really good. But he didn't influence the game, the whole game. Like he's trying to make something happen. And I'd rather him learn that way. I think we all would rather him learn that way and make his mistakes and continue to say, yeah, this works in this moment and this doesn't work. So I do a little bit more of what works here, you know, but he wants the ball. He wants to make a difference, got a great engine running all the time. Like it's been fun to watch, man. Yeah, we also should give some love to Ryan Richter, who is the interim coach for the Philadelphia Union. As I mentioned, unbeaten and 10 matches in league play. I don't know when they're going to get rid of the interim tag. But you'd like to think it's going to happen sooner rather than later. They weren't great to start before the World Cup. They were one win, four draws, 10 losses since they were in last place and since then eight wins and two draws currently in seventh and a team, you would not want a face going into the playoffs and we're getting into the stretch run here. So let's keep it on Kavanaugh Sullivan and Chuck and talk about a couple, I guess, angles as it pertains to, I assume he's going to get called into the USman's national team. He'll be surrounded by some other younger players and he can be maybe packaged into this with the other younger players too. But how does Pogetino maximize Kavanaugh Sullivan in this camp and the other younger players that do get called in? How do you get to see everybody? And I don't know if it's a quote unquote fair way, but in a way that you're giving them an opportunity to be themselves, right? And I think Pogetino has been very good at that. Hey, I'm going to set some parameters and within those parameters, this is, I want you to be who you are. And I'm kind of curious as to how he tries to squeeze out those little potential opportunities for Kavanaugh Sullivan in particular. Yeah, I mean, look at the teams that Risa Pogetino has coached and managed. So he's not like he hasn't had to deal with creative players or players that have this spark in them. So there's four games. In this camp, he's going to see how he trains one, how he conducts himself, how he competes with some of the best kids. So it's not even just the best youth players, whoever he calls in from the senior team, think about that. Chris Richards is on the pitch and he's one of you on. How does he actually play against the Chris Richards? And when Chris Richards lays him out, what's his reaction? Does he get up and get on with it? This is his teammate now. So the whole standing up and pushing and fighting and gotta go out the window if you're talking about a national team. Hey, you're competing and you get laid out, dust yourself up, you get back up and you get after it. So it'll be interesting to see how he's tested and how he responds. Because Funcher Tino is going to see how he stacks up against the rest of the national team. Guys, him with Malik Tillman, how does that work out? How does that look? I would assume Malik Tillman's going to be in there and given how successful he was at the World Cup. So it'll be fun to watch him up against an anti-Robinson or him one V1 against Chris Richards and gets laid out. I expect that, but there's four games. So I expect him to get at least two matches of that four. I think that's what's great about this window is there's probably a number of new faces. Enough minutes for everybody, right? And so how does he look against a gozo? I could foresee that being another matchup of players competing for minutes against one another. Matisse Albert. I mean, Matisse Albert was his national team at the U17 World Cup. Now there, one's at Dortmund trying to break through and get minutes at the first team level but training every day at the first team and one's thriving in MLS starting. So where are they now when Funcher Tino assesses on? That's going to be exciting for me. Yeah, and I agree with you. It's funny that the games are going to be a subset of this whole experience, right? It's the trainings, right? And get these little details of how their attitudes are when they're going up against each other. All these, I mean, I remember Bob Bradley was very big on some of the things that he was seeing off the field. Every coach is, but I remember Bob in particular. He's very smart. Oh my god. Jimmy. So, when we think about culture setting, big tones, you know, what do you think is maybe the number one priority for Pochettino? What do you, what kind of foundational stuff do you think he's going to lay down in terms of like, hey, when you come into this camp, this is what has to happen. First thing you do when they're getting, you know, they do that entrance thing out of the car, like if they've got Gucci bags, if they take them, if they got Rolex watches, if they take them, if they go. He's going to have a lot of time to develop his culture. And these kids are going to, the young kids will come in and they'll learn right away from minute number one. They don't have, we argued about some of these guys under Greg Berhalter, the culture was this, and we didn't like it. They don't have any of that. This is going to be their first time learning the culture from the national team. This is going to be only national team culture they know, right? So come in, learn it right away, and then go do the thing you were brought in here to do. Go Julian Hall, you're brought in here to score goals. Mamedi and I'm guessing again, all these days. You're brought in here to dictate the play the game in the middle of the field. Kevin, you're brought in here to be our creative spark. Can you attack the park? Gozo, go run the right side. And then let the culture thing just develop. And Pochettino, if you think, I think you'd be naive to think and we would all would be. And you guys, again, as you go in your coaching journeys, you'd be naive to think that if you were in this situation, every one of those guys is going to fit your culture. They're not going to, man. Not all of them are good. So you're going to figure that out too at some point. Yeah, that's a good point. But the problem, Jimmy, with that is Bradenton was the best in terms of a national team. So if you had, let's say you had four, like one in each regionalizing, basically regionalize the Bradenton. But then you got to have one, would that be just an Atlanta? The one that would be the best has landed on the four? Are Claire Fontaine? Yeah. That would be the best to be now, right? With that complex down there in Atlanta, which I think is the epic. So why wouldn't you have one there? By the way, you're talking about all the national team coaches are all in one place. You're constantly being probably tested. They're flying in national teams to play friendly. Yeah. But that would be the most ideal scenario of having one national team residency program versus the best four in each region. Yeah. There probably needs to be more than four. We probably have to have six to eight, honestly, to make sure we could canvas properly different regions around the country just because our country is so big. But I would love that. It would be fun to put that back in place and I think we'd be able to identify talent and move them along a little bit quicker and identify them a little bit quicker. That's a whole other podcast. So let's talk about the Americans in Europa League. Why should we be excited? Because we've got so many of them. We've got so many players who can catch all the action from the UEFA Europa League and stream every match live. All season long, a paramount plus. But let's see the odds. Actually, it's going to odds first to win the Europa League and see if any of our players are on those. I don't know what the bookies are going with. Oh, yeah. For sure. So these are the odds of the guys in the ring. Eight to one from Elon. Eight to one for BioLevercuzin. That's what Malik Tellman. Juventus, eight to one is well to win it with West and McKinney. Austin trustee and Cameron Carter Vickers for Celtic, though they just lost to Rangers in the Scottish Cup, 3-0, not a good performance. Austin trustee dressed, but did not play in that one. CCB didn't look that great. Tanner Testman played a lot of minutes in their qualifying phase for Leone, but hasn't played as much, unfortunately, for Leone in the league. I only got a couple minutes off the bench. Hopefully that changes soon. Brian Reynolds is another one. And then we have Pellegrino Marrazzo, who's in charge of Real Sociedad. You want to cope with Del Rey with them? When the Europa League with them, there's a lot. There's a lot. So, yeah, I mean, which Americans? Thomas, I'll come to you on this one first. Which Americans do you think are poised to have like the biggest impact on this competition? Biggest impact. I would love to see Timothy Weyer have a really big impact because I thought his World Cup and we've spoken about it a couple times right, wasn't what he expected it to be or what we expected it to be for him, but getting the captains armband for a little bit at Marseille and like, so I think he could have a big impact. I think this is a really important period for Tanner Testman, right, to take even another jump now in his game. The obvious ones, I mean, we know the ones that have played in the World Cup, right? We're looking, you know, Malik Toman, how does he bounce back? It's a, I'd call a gratuitous assist this weekend, Hannah Schott, that was going to be five yards wide, but oh, you know what, how about I throw in Xavier Gozo, that I want to see, because this could be the competition, right, where we've seen it oftentimes, Europa League, you get a lot of playing time where you don't necessarily get a ton in the Premier League. So there's a lot, and if we don't do it on the field, maybe we'll do it off the field with Matarazzo, right, is the manager on the touch line here. Yeah, so we're already that Gozo is not on the roster. Yeah, it's unfortunate, yeah, I'm just learning that as well, to share in that note for everybody. So yeah, I'm kind of curious to obviously, as Amory mentioned earlier, Milan in particular are going to have what, three games a week for eight straight weeks, and that is a battle of attrition for sure. So I'm curious to see which guys can manage that and be performing at a high level. I don't know, I guess the question also ties in Chuck in terms of like, who can use this competition to propel their career in some capacity. Tone's mentioned Tanner Tussman, I think that's a good one. I would love to see Mike Toman be a little bit more front and center for lever cuisin. It feels like he's kind of on the fringes right now, so maybe he could use this competition, and he's shown before that he can step up and score big goals in European competition. He's got some goals on the Champions League. So he would be one Tyler Adams, I think would be very cool to see, see, really make his mark on things. I know he's played in the Champions League before for Arby Leipzig, but yeah, there's a couple of good choices there, and obviously, Eunice Musa, we spoke about before, who stands out for you, Chuck? Yeah. For me, it's Eunice Musa. Again, it's right in this wave. If he's, because he's 23 years old, I saw someone say, why does 23 years old matter him being so young? Well, it's because he can be trusted to play and play a lot of minutes, and his prime is until he's 27 to 29, and the 27 to 30, I mean, the prime is kind of now leaked into your 30s. You can be at your prime given all of the technology here to help players recover faster. So with that being said, I think given where he was last year, he stands a massive chance to ride this wave under a new manager. We always talk about how managers can change the landscape for a player. Now this path looks real promising if he's playing both in Syria and the Europa League and being counted on. And if he can have consistent performances in both, this year will be astronomical for him, because his value will jump through the roof, and now he'll be trusted in one of the strongest clubs in Europe, in terms of legacy, and where his future will lie. I think this will be promising if he has a strong year. All right, then, and I agree with you. This goes for, I guess a lot of the players. Let's just talk briefly then about Real Sociedad. They're 12 to 1 to win this one, big tones, Pellegrino Madorato, as I mentioned, helped them win a Copa del Rey last season. So it has the chops of winning a trophy in these types of knockout rounds. They're not there yet, obviously, to go through the league phase of eight games, which is its own adventure, before you even get into the knockout rounds. What kind of chances do you give them? They obviously have the team that knows how to have success. They know they lost this past weekend to let it go Madrid at home, but clearly have the talent to be someone nobody wants to face. It's been a fairly easy schedule so far, and the one big one, as you mentioned, was on the weekend. They've got some tough games coming up. So I wonder how he prioritizes this, and you'd like to think that a club like this, having an opportunity to win a European trophy would go for it, but I would think that La Liga and competing and staying in Europe one more time is equally as important to them. So people are asking, like, some of these big clubs, how they manage these things. I think for clubs like Juventus and Milan, you have to go for it because instead of setting out, you might not have a chance to play in Champions League through the table. We're associated that, making Europe again next year would be incredible, right? But are they going to win the Europa League? Are they the best in that conference? I don't know. It's been a tough and down start, right? They've lost the ball for Madrid teams. Yeah, yeah. They've lost to Real Madrid to start the season. They just thought to let Tee. If you look at the schedule, you're like, all right, I mean, yes, it would be cool to take points off of those teams, but you don't necessarily fully expect it. So even though they did a pretty good job of taking scouts last year, this year's a little bit different. And maybe now his tactics are a little bit more well-known to everybody, which makes it a little bit more challenging. I think what's interesting about La Real is they play Bournemouth first. So on Thursday, they're going to take on, and they're at home against Tyler Adams and Bournemouth. They're going to take on Leone as well. So we'll see Pellegrino Marrazzo against Tanner Tessmann, and they play Crystal Palace away. So they're going to get a nice look at our Americans, and that'll be the very minute. Yeah, they have it. Sorry. As I look at it, they've beaten the teams that they should beat, right, so far. And they've gotten results against Celta. They've gotten results against Espanol, against Elche before the Madrid team. So still getting good results, I didn't realize. They opened with Real Madrid on what was that, that was August 26th, right? Or was it Betis? Yeah, yeah. First game of the season. First game of the season. Yeah, it was first game of the season. Betis was prior to that. So yeah, look, do they have a chance? Yeah, they know how to win a trophy, right? We figured that out last year in Copa Del Rey. So I'd love to see him make a deep run, man. It would be so great to have an American manager make a deep run in Europa League. Yeah. Yeah. And kind of start breaking down some of those barriers for American managers. And so they are looking to get back to the final for the first time in 17 years, the hardest working team in America. That is. Now Orlando City won this one back in 2022, so they're the most recent winners. I think what's interesting about the crew and Chuck will come to you on this is that they beat the Richmond kickers in their first game of this competition, 3-0. They took care of one Knoxville, 4-1 in their next one. And then they played again at home. They played New York City FC. They won that 1-1-0, Max Arthson scored. He's no longer with the team. Their last semi-final appearance was 16 years ago. They had to play the sounders in that final, they lost 2-1. That's when they had Scolotto on their team, Scolotto, shout out for him overall. And then I look at their current form, the crew. Seven losses in the draft, eight games. Seven losses in their eight games across all competitions. Even though they're hosting this one, and Orlando's obviously flipped and going the other way, they seem to be playing much better and they've got this guy named Gries von who's been pretty, pretty scintillating. I'm going to use that word for you. Did the crew have any chance here? I mean, they have the opportunity. Whoever wins this game actually will host the final. So there's a lot at stake for this game. What did they expect when Laurent Courtois was asked to be the manager of this team? I don't know. Sometimes, sometimes, you know what I'm saying? Hit history there, right? Yeah, I could have a history anywhere. I mean, a bad coach is a bad coach. So I'm mad. For me, it's shocking to see this unfold. The crew have just made so many poor decisions once Wilford Nazi has left. So here we go. I mean, I think Orlando are insanely favorites over this crew side, even on the road. I do want to add that I probably tease that the crew had won a title. They have not won an open cup title. They just got to the final. That was what I was trying to get across. Orlando City has definitely won, and that was back in 2022. So let's talk a little bit about Orlando tones from your perspective. You know, what's interesting about them is that they squeaked by FC Naples in the first game, 1-0. They got out shot by Naples, which is our equal contours team that he is an owner of. And there was no VAR in that one, apparently the ball crossed the line. They called it off that it didn't or didn't say it went in. So controversial there. They were down three times to the New England Revolution in the next round, round to 16. They came back and won that one, 4-3. They rolled past Atlanta United, but everybody's doing that this season. They're up 4-0 and half time in that one. And now they're into the semi-final here. They're 6-2 and 2 since the World Cup break. They're currently on a five game on Beat and Run. I agree with Chuck that this is probably going to be us hanging out in Orlando City for the open cup final when we're there in person, because I just don't know what Columbus is going to do to really kind of unlock this Orlando City team. Yeah, they look dangerous right now. I'm looking forward to this one. And I'm looking forward to you guys if you do have to come to Florida and look solid in the back. Yeah. They're good in the attack. Ivana and Gulo, I think, has been one of those guys that Martin Paramlin has been able to open up a little bit and unlock the interesting two-inner managers managing in this game, right? Because Paramlin is still an interim manager, but they've been really good. Gray's Monk came in and I spoke to the manager yesterday. We had our coaches call with him and he just went on and on about how special he's been on and off the field. No Gucci bags, no watches, no nothing just comes in and does his things. But he talked about the influence that he's had on the young players, including, I can't wait to watch Ellis Live. Everybody keeps talking about this kid. Everyone keeps telling me, but like this kid is, it actually, Gray's Monk, said in a press conference, I don't know, two, three weeks ago, I would be very surprised if he's not in a big European league here in the near future. So that's pretty high praise from a guy who's been around some decent players, right? So I'm looking forward to seeing all his movements live and I asked, like, what position can he play because he's played multiple positions? Like, what's his best position? He said, they can use him anywhere, anywhere in the front four. Like that's how good they think he is. And I was trying to get to what is he at the next level, but you know, you only have so much time with these guys to kind of dig in, so I'm looking forward to that. But they're the favorite. There's no doubt. They brought Dorsey in from Houston, who plays on the right side who gets up and down the wing all the time. Was a youth national team player as a winger for a long time? Yeah, there's a lot. But if you're looking at it from Columbus standpoint, there, I think we saw it. We just had Patrick Shultion. I think he, there are nine points out of the playoffs with eight games to go. This could be their season, like this could make your season right now. If you, they haven't won this, as you said. So this could be what you put all your eggs in this basket right now. Yeah, we have to wait to see what they decide to do. Yeah, I mean, grease month scored in five straight MLS games. Ellis has had four assistant, four straight games. So yeah, they're absolutely cruising right now and a red hot Orlando city is never a team you want to face. And the other semi final, we got St. Louis city, who will be attempting to reach their first ever open cup final Colorado Rapids is who their opponent is. What's interesting about the rapids is that since MLS started in 96, there's been only one year that a lower division team has beaten an MLS team in the final. And that was a 1999 with a Rochester region rhinos. And they beat the rapids, two zero in that one. So that's the rapids on that distinction. Yeah, but they're back in, you know, a lot of teams are back in the open cup for the first time after leaks cup and showing themselves. But I think what's interesting about the rapids, they've got six clean sheets in 11 games since the quarter finals of the round, excuse me, of the open cup. We've got six, one and four in that span. They've settled down a little bit in terms of their form, but St. Louis city, we're talking about current form, currently on a 15 game on beaten streak. They haven't lost since May 3rd. Chuck, 10 wins and five draws have them within two points a second place in the Western conference. They've been absolutely crushing it. I feel like they've found their identity and they only seem to have gotten stronger with each passing game. Almost kind of like the Philadelphia of the West, right, where all of a sudden there's just like this new identity, this new belief. And I just don't think you can slow it down because it's a cup competition. And I listen, I have respect for what they're doing in Colorado, but I just feel like St. Louis is the hotter team. Yeah, St. Louis is by far the hotter team. It's almost unimaginable the course of the change of course in their direction because they were dreadful. And next thing you know, they made some changes and you've got to appreciate when teams and front offices go, man, this is not going in the right direction. Let's make the right decisions. Let's start. Let's change because we can. We can afford to make those changes and right now they're they've been phenomenal. I was looking at them like really 10 wins and five draws in the last 15, they've been that good. Yeah. Yeah. And Colorado unfortunately has been underwhelming per usual. So it's kind of so it's what we mean in some ways, let's say from a neutral perspective, you're kind of pulling for Orlando St. Louis in the final because those just two teams have been red hot and the game would be in Orlando and I bet you would be popping off and we're already look forward to potentially going there. It doesn't always work out that way, right? We'd always get the two hottest teams, cup competitions, results can go either direction, but I assume that's kind of where we want to go. We'll see.
