PREMIER LEAGUE
FINAL DAY 2025-26
PL Final Day 2025-26
The last day of the Premier League season is unlike anything else in football. All ten matches kick off simultaneously. In 90 minutes: the title is decided, the European spots confirmed, and three clubs drop to the Championship. Every touch matters. Every result changes everything.
What's at Stake on Final Day
🏆
The Title
If the top two clubs are level on points, the title is decided on final day. The simultaneous kick-offs mean both clubs know exactly what result they need with real-time pressure.
🌍
Europe
Places 5-7 often go to the wire. Champions League, Europa League and Conference League spots — each worth tens of millions — are routinely settled on the final whistle of final day.
⬇️
Relegation
Three clubs drop down. Often only one spot is confirmed weeks early — the other two go to final day. Managers on the touchline, fans in tears, last-minute goals that change lives.
📺
Simultaneous Kicks
All 10 final day matches kick off at the same time — preventing any club from knowing exactly what they need to do before they finish. Drama unfolds across every pitch simultaneously.
Greatest Premier League Final Day Moments
2012 — AGUEROOOO
Manchester City vs QPR — Sergio Aguero's Title Winner
93:20. City trailing QPR 2-1. Needing a goal to deny Manchester United the title. Aguero's winner off the post is the greatest final day moment in Premier League history. Martin Tyler screaming "AGUEROOOO" — never forgotten.
2023 — LEICESTER RELEGATED
The Champions' Downfall — Foxes Drop to Championship
Seven years after winning the Premier League against all odds, Leicester City were relegated on the final day of 2022-23. The sight of their players and fans in disbelief became one of football's most haunting images.
2019 — LIVERPOOL vs CITY
One Point Separates the Greatest PL Rivals
Manchester City won the 2018-19 title with 98 points — just one point ahead of Liverpool's record 97. Both teams won on final day. Decided by City's extraordinary form rather than Liverpool's — yet Liverpool won the next year.
